It’s an unprecedented action in web history: the Egyptian government has ordered all Internet (and mobile phone) services shut.
According to AFP, cell phone text messaging was cut late Thursday while Internet services, which had been patchy during the night, were completely severed early Friday, cutting off access to networking sites Facebook and Twitter — key communication tools used by protest organizers.
The nationwide demonstrations, which started on Tuesday, have turned into the largest uprising in Egypt in three decades.
