Help reduce the size of your government: Resign

Peeps, you know I’d be pushing this idea in Lebanon if we actually had a government from which politicians could resign.

Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul-Mahdi announced on Monday he was stepping down from his post, saying “he hoped the resignation would prompt others to follow suit to reduce the size of the government.”

The VP position is largely symbolic as it carries no real power, but it was a part of the power-sharing deal between Iraq’s political factions to form the government.

A seemingly selfless act for the good of your country: outstanding gesture, Mr. Mahdi.

And the line separating reality and satire begins to blur…
