#STL Twitter Wars: Lebanon versus St. Louis

As news broke today that a delegation from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon briefed Lebanese prosecutor general Said Mirza on its indictment into the Hariri assassination and issued four arrest warrants in the case, Lebanese tweeps unwittingly set off a hashtag battle by using #STL to keep track of the trending topic on Twitter.

Everything was going well up until 8:00 a.m. rolled around in St. Louis, Missouri.

And that’s when someone from St. Louis’ #STL told our country’s #STL to back off:
